How To Write a Compounded Rx

Many electronic health systems have the ability to electronically send compounded “e-scripts” to a pharmacy, but there may be some workarounds that you will have to do in order to send the desired compound electronically. For example, many practitioners select a drug in their EMR called “Custom Compounded Medication” as the drug to dispense. The exact compound you want to prescribe can be typed directly into the notes of the e-script. This is done because some systems do not allow you to directly create compounds within your software.
